Professor Simpson is a trained epidemiologist working in the field of population health sciences and medical informatics carrying out internationally recognised research to improve the health and well-being of patients and populations. Prior to his current appointment as the Professor of Population Health, Prof. Simpson held the post of Reader and Director of Innovation at the Usher Institute, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. He has published over 100 research papers.
